The IHF believes deeply in partnership - so deeply, in fact, that we built our entire organization around the idea that empowering and mutually supportive partnerships can change the world.

Our vision of partnership goes deeper than the instrumental relationships that we so often see between businesses, politicians or even NGO and social movement leaders. We believe that true partnerships involve communication, give and take, patience, and above all an emphasis on building relationships. We pay close attention to the effects of cultural and power-related dynamics, knowing that only by working through these issues can we overcome the North-South divisions that dominate international NGO work. In this way, through true partnership, we and our partners work together for a more just future.

If you share our passion for true partnerships, please consider contributing to the IHF as a volunteer, adviser, or donor.

The IHF currently has partnerships in the following countries:

Ecuador

Guatemala

India

Mexico

Costa Rica
A note for donors: the IHF is pleased to continue to serve as a recipient of donations to the Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation (CRHF) in
order to provide a tax exemption for donors. As with all donations made through the IHF, you will receive all necessary tax exempt paperwork, and the funds
will be immediately transferred to the CRHF bank account in Costa
Rica. The IHF sends all financial transaction records to the CRHF
director, and if you would like to also be advised regarding the date
of transfer, please provide us with your email address or phone
number. A copy of your receipt will be sent to the CRHF for their
records.

In addition to our partnerships, we have emerging relationships in:

Dos Ceibas, Guatemala
In 2006, IHF volunteers supported the returned-refugee community of Dos Ceibas as it constructed a community center which will, among other functions, serve to preserve the strong indigenous Mayan heritage of the people of Dos Ceibas. The IHF is in contact with Dos Ceibas to explore the possibility of a long-term relationship.
