2009 Catalog - Giving Global Change Worldwide

Our work depends on empowered communities around the world, passionate students at leading universities, a large group of dedicated volunteer managers, and you. Over the years hundreds upon hundreds of donations of $20-$50 each have allowed our work to continue. Occasionally, a very generous individual or foundation contributes more, but, in general, individuals give the equivalent of a week’s worth of lattes or a holiday sweater, and the IHF, in turn, creates fair-wage jobs in Guatemala, improves families’ respiratory health in India, and engages in the other far-reaching projects described in this catalog.

As the economy affected most of us reading this, it also affected Dolores in Guatemala and Selvam in India – and more so, the dozens of lives each of them touch. As you read about the IHF, our incredible partners, and students from Brown to Oxford, please consider supporting our grassroots approach to creating global change - all it takes is passing on giving one more sweater that will end up tucked away in a drawer somewhere.

Support the IHF
The IHF General Fund is used to support new initiatives, chapter development, and the overall administration of the organization. Since the IHF relies on the tremendous human capital of our volunteers, 93-95% of our funds go directly to our partnerships. We remain committed to low overhead, but the IHF General Fund needs steady financial support in order to make long-term commitments to our partners.
